The Truth About Finding Middle School Science Fair Projects

Middle school science fair projects can be tough to create. Are you and your children searching for 7th grade science fair projects. Have you been told by other parents that it’s going to be tough and there will be many false starts? Have you been warned by well-meaning parents of your children’s friends that middle school science fair projects are much more time intensive and much more frightening than ones for kids in 5th grade?

If so, it’s time for you to read the truth.

  1. First of all, 7th grade and 8th grade science fair projects are actually easier than other middle school science fair projects that you have done in the past. That’s because kids are old enough to really choose projects that they are interested in.

And if you’re a parent, you know yourself that trying to get your child to read a book on something he or she is not the wee bit interested in can drive you crazy! It’s not happening.

But once that interest for science projects for middle school starts to take hold in your child’s psyche, there’s a major transformation that takes place. Suddenly your child is determined to go the distance, to become an expert in a topic, and to start showing skills you knew he had in the intellectual realm. It’s wonderful! His or her middle school science fair project can really be fantastic.

  1. Whatever you do, don’t depend on all the top ranking websites for middle school science fair projects to provide you with downloadable complete 8th grade – or 7th grade science fair projects. It’s not going to happen unless you choose a few select sites.

The reason for this is that many of these sites are membership sites. Their main goal is to get you to come to the site, get interested in their selection of middle school science fair projects, and then become a subscriber to their site. Their site is on the internet for one reason – to make money and many of them have devised ways to collect $35 or more from you!

You’ll have to search for those select websites that don’t charge you for information that you really aren’t going to be using anyway. You see, those 7th grade and 8th grade science fair projects can’t be copied, period. Judges of middle school science fair projects have a way of remembering what projects have been done before, and they remember them as if the projects were members of their family! It’s scary that the judges would take so much brain space for such trivia, but the bottom line is that these judges are looking for novel ideas, not old, worn-out ones that have been repeated time and time again.

  1. Science projects for middle school can be actually exciting, because there may be rewards involved.

Now think of this for a moment. Can you or your child afford the best college education to fit his or her needs, aspirations, and talent? The answer is probably not, with all the rising costs of college.

Even though middle school science fair projects may seem a long way off from college, the fact is that winning these events can put your child on the map. It can develop a sense of high self esteem, public speaking skills, and intellectual skills that make him or her stand out in a crowd. And walking through that crowd are journalists looking for a story or a novel idea that can potentially get your child the attention he needs at an early age.

Walking through that crowd might also be recruiters for other events that feature science projects, not for middle school but for the state or the nation. There are even international science fairs that deserve thinking about because college scholarships are given out.

Whatever you do about your middle school science projects, do give them a lot of careful planning.

I have two nephews that are big science fans and have won awards for their science project. These tips would have been handy when my kids were still in seventh and eighth grade. Thanks for sharing them!
